I’m Serena, and I’m the proud founder of SHISHIMO, a brand dedicated to offering sustainable press-on nails.
When I was just six years old, I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. While many of my peers aspired to become teachers, scientists, or astronauts, I proudly declared that I wanted to be a fashion designer. It was my dream.
However, it’s a common cliché among people of my generation in Asia that our parents often didn’t see a career in fashion as a practical choice. Despite my passion, I eventually set aside my dream.
Life continued, and like millions of women around the world, I pursued my education, got married, and became a mother. Like countless others, my life faced challenges. During those dark days, it was the little things, like cute accessories, that brought a glimmer of joy. Those adorable nails and curly hairstyles reminded me of the little six-year-old girl with big dreams.
Shishimo was born out of the desire to bring those cheerful moments to all women worldwide, or anyone who simply wants to embrace a touch of cuteness. Life has its ups and downs, but Shishimo is here to celebrate your brightest moments and provide comfort during the gloomy times. We’re here to cheer you on, no matter what life throws your way.
